TOOLS I USE
here are all the tools i use for my game-development stuff
game engine:
unreal engine
the engine i always use is unreal engine. specifically version 4.27, you can get all the unreal engine versions on the epic games launcher, which comes with a marketplace for plugins, assets and much more
3d modeling
blender
i use blender for my modeling and texture painting, its a free 3d modeling, animating and 2d animation software. I've used it for all of my games up to this far. its free and doesn't use any subscription services
pixelart
piskel
i use an app called piskel, which i used to make the sprites on the top of the page, its a simple yet effective pixel art tool
simple music maker
beepbox
i use a web software called beepbox, its good for lowpoly / retro styled games as it has simple midi instruments
photo editing
photopea
photopea is a web version of photoshop, its free, has more features on it, and doesn't use any ai tools for i. it supports photoshop brushes, multiple image and save formats like .gimp files and .svg files
sound editor
audacity
audacity is a powerful sound editing too, its capable of changing sound files, quality, sound distortion, and any effects you want o apply like reverb, echo and any high or low-pass filters
sounds
freesound
freesound is a large website where you can use other peoples sounds for free, all you need to do it credit the original creator
textures
polyhaven
polyhaven is a site which houses 100s of high quality assets for modeling and game development
